May 06, 2025 — In a strong show of leadership and collaboration, over 26 senior healthcare executives from across the country came together on April 22 at Hotel Sofitel, Mumbai, for a high-impact CXO meeting organised under the distinguished leadership of Dr Girdhar Gyani, Director General of the Association of Healthcare Providers (India) (AHPI), and Mr Joy Chakraborty, COO of Hinduja Hospital.

The meeting brought together visionaries from the healthcare industry to engage in a candid and forward-thinking conversation around leadership in today’s complex healthcare environment. The focus of the session was on governance frameworks, organisational culture, and the evolving role of CXOs in driving quality and resilience in their institutions.

The event opened with an insightful welcome address by Mr Joy Chakraborty, who emphasised the need for cohesive leadership and the growing responsibilities of healthcare executives in navigating change while preserving quality at the core of operations. His remarks set a thoughtful tone for the rest of the evening.

Dr Girdhar Gyani, Director General of AHPI, reflected on the session’s significance, stating, “For healthcare to truly evolve, leadership must move beyond strategy and finance to embrace quality, transparency, and values-based governance. This forum reinforces the idea that CXOs are not just operational heads—they are the custodians of trust and culture within their institutions. The discussions today mark a step forward in creating leadership that is both accountable and purpose-driven.”

Over the course of the session, participants discussed pressing issues such as building accountable leadership, cultivating purpose-driven workplace cultures, and reinforcing ethical decision-making within healthcare governance models. With an industry constantly under the lens—whether due to regulatory expectations, patient safety imperatives, or rising operational challenges—leaders echoed the sentiment that collaborative learning and cross-institutional dialogue are essential for sustainable progress.

A respected Dignitary from the healthcare sector shared thoughts on the session’s impact, remarking: “It’s not often that leaders from diverse healthcare institutions come together in such an open and collaborative environment. What stood out in this meeting was the sincerity and depth of the dialogue—leaders weren’t here to represent institutions, but to collectively reimagine the future of healthcare leadership. This kind of platform is essential for driving lasting, system-wide transformation.”

The session concluded with warm and appreciative closing remarks from Dr Shilpa Tatake, Group COO of Jupiter Hospital, who thanked all attendees for their active participation and underlined the importance of such knowledge-sharing platforms in shaping future-ready leadership.

The success of the CXO meet also speaks to AHPI’s continued commitment to fostering thought leadership, ethical healthcare governance, and cross-sectoral dialogue. With India’s healthcare industry rapidly evolving, platforms like this serve as essential touchpoints for shaping policy, improving patient outcomes, and strengthening institutional trust.
