Thiruvananthapuram, October 03 2026: Sachin Kumar Yadav, IAS, has assumed charge as the Managing Director of Kerala Fibre Optic Network (KFON). Currently serving as the Director of Kerala State IT Mission, he is also holding additional charge as the CEO of Technopark and Director of the Kerala State Remote Sensing and Environment Centre (KSRSEC). He has previously served as Deputy Secretary and Officer on Special Duty in the Finance Department and the AIS Department of the General Administration Department. He has also served as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Rebuild Kerala Initiative.

Born in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan, Sachin Kumar Yadav completed his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi before joining the Indian Administrative Service. He has served in various positions in the Kerala Government, including Assistant Collector, Ernakulam; Sub Collector, Tirur; and District Development Commissioner, Malappuram.

His leadership is expected to provide fresh impetus to efforts to further strengthen digital connectivity across the state and expand KFON services to more regions and sections of society. Expanding connectivity to homes, government institutions, educational institutions and commercial establishments, while further strengthening digital inclusion, will remain key areas of focus.
