Speaking on the significance of the new store, a Panghat spokesperson Anand Saraf Director & Brand Owner

“Over the years, Delhi has established itself as one of India‘s leading destinations for ethnic fashion, so opening a store here was always part of our vision. Having worked in the past with several brands in Delhi through our white-label business, we understood the market well, and Pitampura with its reputation as a prominent destination for premium Indian wear felt like the perfect location for our flagship store.” The store is aimed at customers seeking wedding and festive wear that celebrates authentic craftsmanship, hand embroidery and the rich design heritage of Kolkata.”

Founded in Kolkata in the early 1990s, Panghat set out to celebrate the richness of Indian craftsmanship and create clothing that would be cherished for years. For many years, the brand operated behind the scenes, manufacturing and white-labelling for several ethnic wear brands and designers across India years that shaped the standards Panghat has since brought to its own retail journey. Panghat entered retail in 2018 with the launch of its first store in Kolkata, followed by Jaipur, a second Kolkata store, Surat, and now its Delhi flagship in 2026. The brand works with some of India‘s finest weaving and embroidery traditions, including Kanjivaram, Banarasi, Patola and Bandhani weaves, alongside handcrafted techniques such as Zardozi, French Knot and Lucknowi embroidery.

On the milestone, the founder said:

“Kolkata has always been at the heart of our journey. We’ve spent decades working closely with skilled artisans and karigars whose craftsmanship has shaped the identity of Panghat. With our Delhi flagship, we’re excited to bring that same authenticity, heritage and attention to detail to a city that truly appreciates Indian ethnic wear.”

To celebrate the launch, Panghat hosted Panghat Darbar that evening, an event that brought together members of the media, creators, celebrities, and patrons of Indian fashion to mark the brand’s expanded presence in Delhi and celebrate the enduring beauty of India‘s textile and craft traditions.
