Navrachana University hosts 5th IPR Symposium

Vadodara: Navrachana University, the region’s premier multi-disciplinary private university, organised the 5th IPR symposium.

The Symposium on “IPR & Innovation with focus on Patent Creation and Management” was jointly organised by the Law Program at the School of Business and Law and the Student Startup Innovation Project (SSIP) of Navrachana University.

The symposium was inaugurated by Dr. Narottam Sahoo, Advisor & Member Secretary of Gujarat Council on Science & Technology (GUJCOST), Associate Dean Dr. Hitesh Bhatia, Principal of Law Dr. Sujata Patil, Associate Dean Dr. Sandeep Patil, and other dignitaries.

Speaking at the inaugural session, Dr. Sahoo announced that GUJCOST would extend financial assistance to set up an IPR Cell at Navrachana University. He said it would be a great opportunity for all students, faculties and staff to promote, create and manage Intellectual Property at the university level.

Dr. Sujatha Patil, Principal, Law Program said “The Symposium helped students and faculties of Law Program in enhancing their knowledge in the field of IPR and it also created a great platform for law students in understanding plethora of career opportunities in the field of IP.”

The symposium was organized to create awareness and understanding about IP and how they are a must for inventors, creators, and owners to have control over their creations and receive compensation for their use. The Symposium brought together top experts and stimulated insightful discussions on the latest trends in IP.

The inaugural session was followed by technical sessions addressed by three eminent speakers. They include Ragini Shah, Lead Partner at ANM Global Inc, Satya Pogaru, Vice President, of Lexpert Consilisum, and Meera Marthak, Senior Manager, at Alembic Pharmaceuticals.
