Kochi, Dec 23: V-Guard Industries Ltd., as part of its CSR initiatives, supported the transgender community by organising a free dermatology medical camp. The initiative was conducted at St. James Church Parish Hall, Chambakkara, under the CSR project ‘Samaveshah Inclusion with Dignity for Transgender Persons’
Samaveshah is a community initiative organised by V-Guard in association with Welfare Services Ernakulam (Sahrudaya), aimed at promoting inclusion, reducing stigma, and improving the overall well-being of transgender individuals. The medical camp was led by the medical team from MAJ Hospital, Edapally, with Dr. Reenaa Mithun Chittilappilly presiding over the event.
Dr. Reenaa Mithun Chittilappilly also distributed food kits and cakes to the participants, sharing the joy and spirit of the upcoming Christmas season. During the event, she assured continued support to the transgender community and committed to extending financial assistance as part of sustained efforts towards their well-being and empowerment.
“Samaveshah is about affirming dignity and creating a society where transgender individuals are respected and supported. Through initiatives like this, we aim to address unique challenges, provide health security, and promote equality for the transgender community,” said Dr. Reenaa Mithun Chittilappilly.
As part of the project, medical camps and awareness programmes are being conducted to improve quality of life, ensure health security, and strengthen gender equality. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to fostering an inclusive society where every individual, regardless of gender identity, feels valued and supported.
