Hyderabad, Feb 05: The Indian School of Business (ISB) recently hosted senior executive cohorts from globally recognised, top-100 ranked institutions the Melbourne Business School, Australia, and the Johns Hopkins University – Carey Business School, USA, as part of intensive global immersion programmes, reinforcing ISB’s position as a leading gateway to India for global business and policy leaders.
Over six days, ISB welcomed more than 75 senior executives for immersive learning experiences focused on India’s economic growth, governance frameworks, innovation ecosystems, and entrepreneurial landscape. Structured as credit offerings integrated within the EMBA/SEMBA curriculum at both schools, the immersions combined academic rigour with real-world exposure, enabling participants to apply classroom learning directly within India’s dynamic business environment.
Designed to integrate academic rigour with real-world exposure, the programmes combined faculty-led classroom sessions, industry interactions, and experiential visits to organisations including Novartis India and T-Hub, Hyderabad’s flagship startup incubator. These engagements enabled participants to gain first-hand insights into India’s consumer markets, healthcare ecosystem, and high-growth startup environment, deepening their understanding of leadership and decision-making in high-growth emerging markets.
The Johns Hopkins Carey immersion also marked one of ISB’s first long-duration academic engagements with a US business school, underscoring the School’s expanding global partnerships and its growing role in shaping globally relevant executive education rooted in emerging market realities. Both cohorts brought together senior professionals from diverse industries, enabling rich cross-border dialogue and the exchange of global perspectives.
Commenting on the programmes, Prof. Himanshu Tambe, Clinical Professor (Teaching) of Strategy at ISB and the Academic Director for this program, said: “As India assumes a more central role in the global economy, it is imperative for global leaders to engage deeply with its markets, institutions, and innovation ecosystems. Through these immersion programmes, ISB aims to offer international executives a nuanced, on-the-ground understanding of India while fostering meaningful academic and industry collaboration across borders.”
Led and delivered by ISB faculty, the immersion programmes build on the ISB’s ongoing collaborations with both institutions and underscore its commitment to experiential, practice-oriented executive education. By integrating academic insight with real-world industry engagement, these immersions strengthen cross-border linkages between academia and industry across India, Australia, and the United States, positioning ISB as a trusted partner for global institutions seeking meaningful and sustained engagement with India.
