Noida, Dec 05: IMS–Design and Innovation Academy (DIA) hosted a creative workshop for school students, where participants displayed their innovation and creativity through the theme Best Out of Waste. The workshop enabled students to learn how to convert everyday household waste into attractive and functional product prototypes.

Professor (Dr.) M. K. V. Nair, Dean of IMS-DIA, shared that the objective of today’s workshop was to introduce students to both fundamental and advanced concepts of design. The session provided detailed insights into various stages of the design process, including material selection, color coordination, and creative presentation. He added that the students learned how to use everyday waste materials to create appealing and practical designs. Using leftover fabric pieces, paper, colors, thread, and other simple materials, the students prepared prototypes of their own unique designs. The workshop not only offered hands-on creative experience but also helped students understand the concept of sustainable and eco-friendly design.
During the workshop, IMS-DIA Vice President Chirag Gupta said that creating useful and attractive products from waste materials is not just a creative exercise but also an important step towards responsible citizenship. This activity connects students with values like resource optimization, environmental conservation, and sustainable development. He emphasized that initiatives like Best Out of Waste make students more aware of the importance of using resources wisely and protecting the environment. The prototypes created by the students reflect their imagination, design understanding, and strong enthusiasm for learning. The institute aims to provide students with a platform where they can explore their talents and develop essential creative skills for the future.
