New Delhi, India Feb 05: Leverage Edu, a global education and jobs talent mobility platform has announced its entry into India’s fast-growing online courses and certifications space with the launch of Leverage Online. This marks Leverage Edu’s strategic expansion beyond university admissions, bringing a differentiated, outcomes-first approach to online learning in India. The new vertical builds on the company’s existing strengths across global education access, learner guidance, and career outcomes, enabling it to support learners at multiple stages of their professional journey.
The launch addresses the broader recalibration underway in India’s online learning ecosystem, where the return on investment from content-led education is increasingly being questioned. Amid rapid shifts in technology and hiring patterns, there is a growing need for models that are designed to prioritise job-relevant, outcome-led learning rather than passive course consumption. This shift is underscored by structural changes in the global workforce. According to the World Economic Forum, close to 40% of core job skills are expected to change within the next five years, driven largely by AI and automation. In India, industry estimates suggest demand for data and AI professionals could exceed one million roles in the near term, even as employers continue to report gaps between academic credentials and job readiness.
“Our core philosophy has always been to support learners across the full education-to-employment journey, not just at the point of admission,” said Akshay Chaturvedi, Founder & CEO, Leverage Edu. “Entering the online courses and certifications space is a natural extension of that mission. Leverage Online is built to help professionals upskill faster, accelerate career growth, and improve long-term earning potential. The emphasis is firmly on relevance, outcomes, and real world career impact.”
Leverage Online has partnered with several established universities, including Manipal University Jaipur, Sikkim Manipal University, UPES, Shoolini University, Sharda University, and Jaipuria Institute of Management, to offer accredited online degrees, professional certifications, and specialised programmes across high-demand, career-aligned domains. The platform has also tied up with One League to offer access to its programmes, which feature curriculum from Harvard Business Impact, MIT IDSS and Stanford Online.
At Leverage, the intent is to ensure programmes remain aligned with real-world job roles, evolving skill requirements, and hiring needs. Early learner traction has been strongest across data science, artificial intelligence, business analytics, finance, and core employability skills.
With global learning platforms also reporting sharp growth in enrolments for Generative AI and advanced analytics programmes, there is a widening disconnect between traditional credentials and workplace readiness. Leverage Edu believes its integrated ecosystem, spanning education guidance, university partnerships, and career enablement, provides a structural advantage to address this gap as the online learning market matures. A key differentiator for Leverage Online is its emphasis on career readiness as a core product promise, rather than an add-on.
“Online education cannot succeed in isolation from the job market,” Chaturvedi added. “Education has to be tightly coupled with employability. That’s the gap we are addressing.”
The platform plans to expand its portfolio further by onboarding additional universities, industry-linked certifications, and job-aligned programmes over the coming months as it scales.
