Gurugram, Feb 04: IndiGo, India’s preferred carrier, has announced adjustments and schedule revisions in its long-haul network to maintain seamless and reliable operations for its customers.
Recently, IndiGo’s widebody operations have faced external operational constraints, including changing airspace regulations due to geopolitical circumstances and congestion at airports in India and abroad. These factors have significantly increased flight and block times, affecting the airline’s Boeing 787-9 schedule operated with six widebody aircraft. To minimize inconvenience to customers from misconnections and cascading delays, IndiGo has taken measures to restore operational reliability and on-time performance across its long-haul network.
Network Adjustments
Effective 17 February 2026, IndiGo will suspend operations to and from Copenhagen until further notice.
The Delhi–Manchester service will be reduced from five flights per week to four starting 07 February 2026, and further reduced to three flights per week from 19 February 2026. This reduces total connectivity between Delhi and Manchester from nine weekly services to seven weekly services. Following this, flights will operate as follows: Delhi to Manchester on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays, with return flights from Manchester on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Similarly, Mumbai–Manchester flights will operate from Monday to Saturday on select days, with return flights from Manchester on Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday.
IndiGo’s Delhi–London Heathrow flights will also be reduced from five weekly services to four weekly services, effective 09 February 2026. Flights from Delhi to London will operate on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with return flights from London on the same days.
Customer Support
IndiGo is proactively reaching out to affected passengers to provide alternative flights or offer timely refunds and compensation as per applicable regulations.
Ongoing International Expansion
As part of its internationalization journey, IndiGo launched its widebody project in March 2025 by damp leasing six Boeing 787-9 aircraft from Norse Atlantic Airways. This project serves as an interim solution for global expansion, leading up to the airline’s own A350-900 widebody inductions scheduled for early 2028. These measures will enable IndiGo to gradually enhance its internal capabilities in preparation for larger future expansion.
IndiGo regrets that current circumstances have impacted operational reliability on its 787-9 routes. The airline remains committed to monitoring external developments and flexibly scaling its network to align with evolving conditions, ensuring long-haul passengers continue to experience dependable travel.
