Hybrid Shifting Delivers Antiquities Returned from the US to the Archaeological Survey of India

New Delhi, Oct  17: Hybrid Shifting, India’s Corporate Services Solutions company, has delivered priceless antiquities retrieved from the United States to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). The delivery took place between 26 and 30 December 2024, according to a certificate issued by the ASI’s Central Antiquity Collection Section, New Delhi, on 30 December 2024.

The certificate records Hybrid Shifting Solution India Private Limited (Pikkol) as the service provider for the project. It describes the company’s overall services as commendable.

Background

In September 2024, the United States returned 297 cultural artefacts to India. The collection included terracotta works, sculptures and vases made from stone, copper and other materials, dating from approximately 2000 BCE to 1900 CE.

An end-to-end delivery

Hybrid Shifting managed the project as a single, integrated shipment lifecycle through its High-Value Asset Logistics service. The scope covered:

  • Origin assessment

  • Specialized packing and custom crating

  • Origin customs clearance

  • Air freight and shipment tracking

  • Destination customs clearance and delivery

  • Unloading and crate handling

  • Unpacking and specialized handling

  • Positioning, installation and final handover

How high-value assets are handled

Hybrid Shifting’s High-Value Asset Logistics service is built around the idea that the handling plan should be designed around the piece, not the other way around. Each object is assessed individually for its value, fragility, sensitivity and complexity. Every project begins with a site assessment and photographic condition report, which becomes the reference point for the entire journey. Pieces are then protected with specialized packing and custom crating, moved under controlled handling and tracking, and verified at destination before final sign-off.

Every handover follows a six-step chain of custody: identify, document, protect, control, verify and handover with documented acknowledgement.

The service supports art collectors, artists, galleries, interior designers and architects, museums and institutions, corporates and private clients. International movements are managed from origin survey and crating through export documentation, air or sea freight, import customs compliance and destination installation, with ATA Carnet and insurance coordination where relevant.
