Ayodhya, Oct 8: The Gujarat government is set to develop a new Yatri Niwas in Ayodhya at a cost of around ₹80.25 crore, with a capacity to accommodate 308 pilgrims.

The facility is being planned to provide comfortable and convenient accommodation for pilgrims from Gujarat and other parts of the country visiting Ayodhya.

The project comes as Ayodhya continues to grow as a major religious tourism destination, attracting visitors from across India. The new accommodation facility is expected to support the increasing demand for organised and affordable lodging in the city.

Facility to Support Pilgrims

With 308 beds, the proposed Yatri Niwas will provide a dedicated stay option for pilgrims and groups travelling to Ayodhya.

The facility is expected to make pilgrim visits more convenient by offering accommodation designed specifically to meet the needs of visitors coming for religious purposes.

Boost to Tourism Infrastructure

Ayodhya has seen growing demand for accommodation and other visitor facilities as the number of pilgrims and tourists continues to rise.

The proposed Yatri Niwas will add to the city’s hospitality infrastructure and support the wider pilgrimage ecosystem. Increased visitor activity can also benefit local hotels, restaurants, transport operators, shops and other businesses.

Supporting Local Economic Activity

Religious tourism has become an important source of economic activity for Ayodhya, creating opportunities for businesses and service providers catering to visitors.

The new facility is expected to contribute to this ecosystem by supporting pilgrim accommodation and encouraging more organised tourism.

The ₹80.25-crore Yatri Niwas, with its 308-bed capacity, is expected to strengthen accommodation facilities in Ayodhya and provide pilgrims with a convenient place to stay during their visit.
