Patna, Mar 23: Drishti IAS held an orientation seminar today at its Patna center, drawing close to a thousand students preparing for the BPSC and UPSC 2027 examinations. The session was conducted by Dr. Vikas Divyakirti, founder and managing director of Drishti IAS, who shared preparation strategies and addressed common challenges faced by civil services aspirants.
The three-hour seminar focused on helping students build a strong foundation for their exam preparation. Dr. Divyakirti emphasized that clearing competitive exams requires more than academic knowledge alone.
“These examinations test your consistency, discipline, and mental strength,” Dr. Divyakirti told the audience. “Knowledge is important, but how you sustain your efforts over months and years determines your success.”
Dr. Divyakirti outlined a preparation framework for students beginning their civil services journey. He advised aspirants to develop a thorough understanding of the syllabus before starting their studies, warning against the tendency to accumulate excessive study materials. He recommended selecting reliable sources and studying them in depth rather than skimming through multiple books.
He also stressed the importance of regular answer writing practice, describing it as essential for building exam-day confidence. On current affairs preparation, he encouraged students to analyze news critically rather than simply consuming information, and to use digital resources judiciously.
The seminar also marked the launch of new BPSC and UPSC 2027 batches at the Patna center. The program includes classroom teaching from experienced faculty and regular test series to help students assess their progress.
The session concluded with an extended question-and-answer segment where Dr. Divyakirti responded to individual student queries about preparation challenges, time management, and study strategies. Students approached him with questions ranging from choosing optional subjects to balancing preparation with other commitments.
Aarti, a final-year graduate attending the seminar, said the session helped clarify her preparation approach. “I’ve been confused about how to start. Today’s session gave me a clear direction and made me realize that a planned approach matters more than just studying for long hours.”
The Patna center is part of Drishti IAS’s expansion across tier-two cities to make quality civil services coaching accessible beyond traditional preparation hubs. The institute currently operates centers in eight cities across India.
