New Delhi, Feb 16: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay attended the 12th edition of Sherpa Gyalpo Losar cum Eco-Village Tourism 2026 held at Rukumtar under the Temi-Namphing constituency.

The event showcased the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Sherpa community, alongside initiatives promoting eco-village tourism in the region. Cultural performances and community participation marked the celebration.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of collective efforts in developing the area as a sustainable tourism destination. He emphasised the need to balance growth with environmental sustainability and inclusive development.

He also referred to various developmental schemes and infrastructure initiatives undertaken in the constituency aimed at improving livelihoods and local facilities. According to the Chief Minister, these initiatives have contributed to steady progress in the region

Reaffirming the government’s commitment, he stated that efforts would continue to strengthen tourism infrastructure, support local communities, and promote overall development in the area.
