Ahmedabad/Mumbai, Feb 11: GREW Solar, one of India’s youngest and fastest growing solar PV manufacturers, announced that its G12R High Power solar module has been included in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The ALMM approval for 3 GW of G12R manufacturing capacity validates that the module meets rigorous quality and performance standards and makes it eligible for deployment in government mandated and utility scale solar projects across the country. As part of its expansion plans, the company is scaling its M10/ M10 R and G12R module manufacturing from its existing 6.5 GW capacity to reach 11 GW by 2026.
In the first half of 2025, India recorded unprecedented solar and wind power generation, reducing nearly 24 million tonnes of emissions and lowering dependence on coal, signalling the country’s accelerating clean energy transition. Building on this momentum, GREW Solar last year introduced its G12R High Power Series to support India’s ambition of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, while strengthening its position as a global solar manufacturing hub.
Delivering up to 635 Wp, the G12R High-Power Series is engineered for utility-scale and open access projects. By reducing total module count by 6–8% per MW, the series helps lower structure, cabling, and land requirements while improving installation timelines and overall EPC efficiency. Its optimized cell layout and enhanced mechanical strength enable 6–7% higher container power density and 1.5 — 3% more power per square meter compared to standard TOPCon modules offering practical advantages in logistics, project design, and energy yield.
Vinay Thadani, CEO and Director, GREW Solar, said, “Securing ALMM approval of 3GW for our G12R High Power module is an important milestone for GREW Solar. It validates our product quality and strengthens our ability to support India’s clean energy expansion at scale. As we expand our manufacturing capacity, we remain focused on delivering high performance solutions that create tangible value for developers and accelerate India’s transition to a sustainable energy future.”
The ALMM approval makes the G12R module eligible for use in government, open access, and net metering solar power projects in India, enabling developers to comply with sourcing guidelines and deploy a high efficiency PV solution across large scale public and institutional projects.
Since its inception in 2022 as part of the Chiripal Group’s manufacturing ecosystem, GREW Solar has rapidly expanded its production footprint and product portfolio, introducing advanced module lines and scaling capacity to meet growing market demand. The company continues to invest in manufacturing expansion, technology development, and quality assurance to serve both domestic and international solar markets.
